Private Cloud

Private Cloud is a service that uses virtualisation technology which allows multiple operating systems running on different applications, to sit on a single managed hardware server reducing power, space and connectivity costs. Each operating system runs on a virtual server instead of having its own individual piece of hardware, these are known as virtual machines. Multiple servers can be grouped together to provide an infrastructure of physical servers that support many virtual machines, which can be dynamically moved around the infrastructure as demands dictate.

In a Private Cloud, a group of servers are dedicated to your business. All virtual machines running on the servers are provided just for you.

The virtual machines have access to the pooled resources of the servers, which include the processor (CPU), memory, disk space, and network interfaces. This means that your applications are significantly more agile, and can be moved between servers, in real time, without any downtime. This is ideal should a server fail because an application can be simply restarted on another device within minutes. If your application is demanding more resource, it can automatically be moved to a physical server that can support its requirements.

Should you require more virtual machines it’s easy; Claranet can simply add another one to your existing infrastructure. You can also operate multiple virtual machines from a single server; this often means that the number of physical servers is reduced, as well as your costs.

Private Cloud is available to new and existing Claranet customers as part of a Managed Hosting or Managed Application Hosting Solution.

Business Consolidation Analysis

Claranet can provide a Business Consolidation Analysis report which will detail how we can migrate your IT systems from a traditional physical infrastructure to a virtual one. Once this data is gathered our Solutions Architects will use it to prepare a design proposal for you. If the proposal is accepted, we can migrate your physical machines onto a virtual infrastructure.
